The Story: Stork

Starkus is based on a Polish tradition of birth, life, and coming of age. In Polish tradition, when a baby was born, the child’s father would pour a spirit into a barrel which would be sealed and buried. On that child’s wedding day, the barrel would be unearthed and joined by the wedding guests. Named for the beloved stork, a symbol of fertility, Starkus is designed for celebration.
